APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Master’s Program

  1. Candidates must have graduated from a bachelor’s degree program and have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.
  2. For citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who have graduated from a higher education institution outside the Kyrgyz Republic or the Republic of Türkiye, an equivalency (recognition) certificate issued by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic is required. For citizens of the Republic of Türkiye who have graduated from a higher education institution outside the Republic of Türkiye, an equivalency (recognition) certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Türkiye is required.
  3. Candidates who have an ALES score of at least 55 (valid for up to 3 years) or an equivalent GRE or GMAT score (valid for up to 5 years) may be exempt from the written examination if they choose not to take it, and their written exam score will be considered as at least 70. However, they are required to take the oral examination. Candidates who do not hold an ALES, GRE, or GMAT certificate must take both the written and oral examinations.

PhD Programs

  1. Candidates must have graduated from a master’s degree program or from a faculty program of at least five years (excluding the preparatory class), or hold a bachelor’s degree and a specialization certificate in a laboratory field determined by the Ministry of Health, and must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 out of 4.00.
  2. For citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who have graduated from a higher education institution outside the Kyrgyz Republic or the Republic of Trürkiye, an equivalency (recognition) certificate issued by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic is required. For citizens of the Republic of Turkey who have graduated from a higher education institution outside the Republic of Türkiye, an equivalency (recognition) certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey is required.
  3. Candidates who have an ALES score of at least 55 (valid for up to 3 years) or an equivalent GRE or GMAT score (valid for up to 5 years) may, if they choose not to take the written examination, be considered as having a minimum written exam score of 70.   4. Candidates must obtain a minimum score of 50 (valid for 3 years) from a foreign language examination conducted by ÖSYM of the Republic of Türkiye or by the ÖSYM Center of Kyrgyz–Turkish Manas University (KTMU), or an equivalent score from an internationally recognized foreign language examinations approved by the KTMU Senate. Foreign language equivalency scores are calculated and evaluated in accordance with the KTMU Foreign Language Examination Equivalency Tables.

International Students

The following principles shall apply to international students who have graduated from higher education institutions outside the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey, or from institutions within the Kyrgyz Republic where the language of instruction is neither Kyrgyz nor Turkish, as well as to applicants applying under bilateral agreements in which the University participates.

  1. Applicants for master’s programs must have graduated from a bachelor’s program and have a minimum GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale. Applicants for doctoral programs must have graduated from a master’s program or from a faculty with at least a five-year program (excluding preparatory classes) and must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale.
  2. Applicants must hold a diploma recognized as equivalent by the competent authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic and/or the Republic of Turkiye (Equivalency Certificate)
  3. A foreign language certificate is not required, and candidates are not subject to the written science examination. Only an oral examination is conducted in a language chosen by the candidate.
APPLICATION METHODS AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • For those applying in person or via email, the ‘KTMU-FR-LEE-01 Student Application and Information Form’ can be obtained from https://lee.manas.edu.kg/tr/form or requested via email at bilgi.lee@manas.edu.kg
  • For admission to the Master’s program, a copy of the Bachelor’s diploma is required; for admission to the Doctoral program, a copy of the Master’s diploma or specialist diploma (with five years of higher education) is required. Originals of the diplomas must be provided upon enrollment.
  • A photocopy of the Equivalency Certificate is required; the original certificate must be presented during final registration.
  • A copy of the diploma supplement (academic transcript).
  • Two (2) photographs sized 3x4 cm.
  • A copy of the passport or identification card (ID card).
  • Original or copy of international exam certificates (if available): ALES, GRE, GMAT.
  • The original or a photocopy of the Foreign Language Certificate for applicants to the doctoral program.
Offered Opportunities
  1. Tuition-free education.
  2. Merit-based scholarships are awarded to students (the scholarship amount is at least 7,200 som for master’s programs and 9,600 som for doctoral programs).
  3. Student dormitories are available on the campus named after Ch. Aitmatov.

  2. Applications from candidates who submit incorrect or incomplete documents will be considered invalid.
  3. The language of instruction is Kyrgyz and Turkish. Applicants whose native language is not one of these two languages, or who have not completed their undergraduate education in one of these languages, must take the Language Exemption Exam if they cannot provide a valid certificate for exemption. The Language Exemption Exams (Kyrgyz–Turkish) will be conducted by the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University School of Foreign Languages from September 2–4, 2026. Applicants who fail in any or both of the languages of instruction may, if they wish, participate in the 'Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Preparatory Class Language Education and Training Program.
