From Rector and Deputy Rector
Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) is an international state university with a special status, established jointly by two brotherly countries - Turkey and Kyrgyzstan.
In addition to Kyrgyzstan, students from 14 countries - Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Mongolia, the People’s Republic of China, etc. - study at KTMU. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate (Ph.D.) programs ranging from 2-year vocational education programs. There are 11 faculties in KTMU, 2 high school, 4 institutes, and 7 research centers, in total. KTMU is the only university in Kyrgyzstan that provides free education and scholarships to students.
Our university is a campus-type university in Central Asia. It includes modern campus buildings; laboratories aimed at developing students’ practical experience; libraries and reading rooms with full access to the educational process and with access to electronic libraries to scientific-methodical textbooks; student service complexes (students’ hospital, gyms, canteen, and cafeteria providing students with discounted meals); and students’ dormitories with all convenient facilities.
The main goal of KTMU is to contribute to the unity and development of the Turkic world, becoming an international brand in education and one of the leading universities in the world. Therefore, KTMU aims to increase friendship, respect, solidarity among students of different nationalities as well as to train highly qualified individuals with high human qualities and excellence in the globalized world.
In today’s world, where the pace of technological, economic, social, etc. change is unprecedented. The curriculum of KTMU, which is created in the modular system, is constantly evolving and changing. This allows KTMU graduates to be trained as professionals who fully meet the requirements of the community and the work environment. In addition, to adapt to the global education system, KTMU combines curricula with the Bologna process and is working on several activities and projects to reach the international level. In this direction, our university exchanges experience between students and faculty with universities of other countries; diplomas are valid in both countries, and we regularly cooperate on project development matters. Through these efforts, we aim to become one of the world's leading international universities and contribute to global education and science.
The material and technical base of KTMU provides full conditions for the high-quality educational process. Our university has its media - a TV studio equipped with the latest technology and a radio station “Manas FM”. In addition, laboratories and classrooms are built according to the requirements of each specialty and equipped with the up-to-date equipment.
KTMU adheres to the precepts of noble Manas and Ataturk, actively contributes to the development of the two countries by providing a decent education to youth, and by implementing various social support programs, as well.
Our university is always ready to cooperate with universities, institutions, organizations, civil society, and the service sector in various fields as in Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, so as around the world.
