Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University`s “Kurmanjan Datka” Art Gallery opened its doors to visitors of the Installation and Printmaking Exhibition prepared by the 2nd and 3rd year students of the Department of Painting.
“Installation” and “Printmaking” courses are taught as compulsory-elective courses in the graphic and painting departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the university. Students are equipped with theoretical knowledge about these branches of art and create exemplary works throughout the semester through their application projects. The main purpose of the Installation and Printmaking Exhibition is to inform art lovers about different branches of art that are not common in Kyrgyzstan. This is done by presenting the works prepared by the students to visitors.
The exhibition was attended by the General Secretary of our university Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oktay Ozgul, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anarbek Ibraev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Sebahattin Sivrikaia, media representatives, artists, lecturers and students.
Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anarbek Ibraev said, “Welcome to our “Human Emotions” exhibition, which is organized to make people think and enrich their inner feelings. Our exhibition aims to introduce students special works to art lovers. Thanks to this project, our students had the chance to apply the theoretical knowledge they learned from their courses to practice.
Fine Arts Lecturer Sezer Erdogan said, “Our exhibition consists of two separate sections. While one part of our exhibition includes our Installation works, the other part includes our Printmaking works. Some of our works were inspired by the works of the great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov. I wish you all a pleasant viewing.
In addition to the illustrations made using the Linogravure printing technique in graphic art and containing the themes of Chyngyz Aitmatov's works, the exhibition also included works such as Chyngyz Aitmatov's portrait and Ataturk's portrait.
The Installation and Printmaking Exhibition organized by Manas University offers a wide perspective to art lovers and encourages students to explore their creativity. Such events play an important role in promoting different art disciplines and increasing cultural interaction among art lovers. Our exhibition will be open to visitors until June 6th.
