On June 5, 2023, a scientific conference titled “Women's Health” was organized by Lecturer at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Ayshe Filiz Yavuz.
The conference was attended by Deputy Rector Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova and Lecturer at the Department of History Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nezahat Ceylan, academic and administrative female staff of our University, employees of Shehit Eren Bulbul Health Center and female students of the High School of Foreign Languages.
At the beginning of the conference, Prof. Dr. Ayshe Filiz Yavuz told about women's place in modern society and statistical indicators of women's health. " Various types of diseases emerge every day. The main reasons for this are malnutrition, excessive antibiotic use, alcohol and cigarette consumption, and inactivity. In addition, sexually transmitted HIV/AIDS and syphilis are now more common in women than men."
Prof. Dr. Aishe Filiz Yavuz has noted that diabetes and breast cancer incidence are increasing among women. She also stated that 50% of women in the world have anemia, kidney diseases and different infections. Prof. Dr. Ayshe Filiz Yavuz, who came from Turkey for this conference, in particular underlined the diseases contagious among young girls and gave valuable advice to future mothers. She also stated the importance of the family institution, which is the cornerstone of society. She emphasized the points to consider when having a child.
Prof. Dr. Ayshe Filiz Yavuz, who made a very comprehensive and detailed presentation on the main gynecological diseases common in women. She also discussed the importance of early diagnosis of these diseases. She also explained in detail the World Health Organization recommendations for disease prevention and treatment.
Stating that creating a healthy society is in women's hands, Ayshe Filiz Yavuz said, “First of all, women should take care of their own health." Getting rid of bad habits, not drinking alcohol, doing sports, planning children's birth, and regular medical control are the golden rules to prevent different diseases. A healthy society will only emerge thanks to you.”
