Rector of the Kyrgyz-Turkish “Manas” University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan participated in a meeting of the Turkic University Union (TÜRKÜNİB). The meeting was held in Samarkand.

50 representatives from Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Hungary attended the meeting organized by Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. In the meeting, Manas University's rector Alpaslan Ceylan discussed a number of issues aimed at enhancing cooperation between Turkish universities.

"Mutual cooperation between universities of Turkish states plays an important role for the "new Turkish era" proclaimed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey. We fully support Turkish educational organizations cooperation in many areas. Unlike the European Union, we are not a union of different peoples. We are one, descendants of noble people. Our goal is to teach our youth our history and language within the framework of the Orhun Exchange Project," said Rector Alpaslan Ceylan.

In addition, Rector Alpaslan Ceylan said the following about the development of the Turkish language: “All Turkish states should use the same alphabet for development of our language." Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are doing a good job in this direction. Our university is working in this direction through a digital project, developing the language. I hope Kyrgyzstan will become an example for other countries by developing the language digitally.

The rector noted that the historical and cultural connection will bring cooperation between universities to a new level.

“We organized a special summer school for young Turkologists. Students from all Turkic countries participate in it and conduct linguistic, historical, archaeological, folklore, and cultural studies.

Also traditional sports are an integral part of our history. In order to develop our traditional sports, Kyrgyz-Turkish “Manas” University plans to hold a traditional sports tournament. I invite everyone to take advantage of this opportunity and participate in the traditional sports tournament," said rector.

The meeting was attended by Deputy General Secretary of TMU Sadi Jafarov, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the University “International Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Silk Road” Aziz Abdukhakimov, Rector of the Kyrgyz-Turkish “Manas” University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan and representatives of various universities.

The meeting discussed the development of mutual cooperation of educational institutions of Turkish universities. It also discussed the creation of modern common educational standards, close cooperation on exchange programs, joint research, strengthening the relationship between students and teachers.

In addition, the issue of implementing plans for symposiums, conferences, and seminars in the fields of scientific research, culture, education, and sports in the Turkic world was discussed.
