Seminar on Women's Cancers Was Held at KTMU

Prof. Dr. Aishe Filiz Yavuz, Lecturer at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Medicine, presented a seminar on women's cancers on June 5, 2023. The seminar was attended by Deputy Rector Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova, Department of History Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nezahat Ceylan, the academic and administrative female staff of Manas University, the staff of the Martyr Eren Bulbul Health Center and the female students of the High School of Foreign Languages.

Prof. Dr. Aishe Filiz Yavuz gave detailed information about women's cancers and discussed their symptoms, diagnosis and treatment methods. Also she emphasized that some cancer types are genetic in some patients. She also stated that when these diseases are detected correctly in individuals, the risk of cancer can be significantly reduced.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Aishe Filiz Yavuz underlined that new types of diseases emerge every day in the world. The main reasons are malnutrition, excessive antibiotic use, alcohol and cigarette consumption, and inactivity. Prof. Dr. Yavuz frequently emphasized female cancer causes. She advised her audience to apply to the Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Education Centers (KETEM) for breast cancer, bowel cancer, and cervical cancer, which are the most common cancers in women in the world.

Prof. Dr. Aishe Filiz Yavuz said: “Don`t be afraid of the disease. Be afraid of being late. Have regular check-ups and start treatment as soon as possible. If you want your nation to be healthy, you should take care of your own health." She also emphasized the place and importance of women in society.

The women who attended the seminar also asked their questions to Prof. Dr. Aishe Filiz Yavuz and received answers.
