On July 9, 2023, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University held entrance exams for thousands of prospective students. Prospective students with their parents and relatives arrived early in the morning at the building where the exam would be held. After identity checks at 9.00 prospective students entered the auditorium. As soon as the officials reminded prospective students of the exam rules, question booklets and answer sheets were distributed to them. The exam started at 10.00 am.
Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University hosted about 18 thousand people, including 7321 prospective students. The exam was held in 227 auditoriums in university buildings. According to the results to be announced on July 11, 2023, approximately 1300 successful students will be placed in quotas.
Manas University`s entrance exam is one of the country's first and only centralized exams for university entrance, and has proven its reliability over the years.
During the exam, Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan and Deputy Rector Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova visited the auditoriums on the Chyngyz Aitmatov Campus and in the Central Building. They met with prospective students and their families. Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan gave his office car to late prospective students this year, just like last year.
During the early hours of the morning, the Rector and Vice Rector met with prospective students and their families. Also, they answered all questions from families about the exams and university facilities.
Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan said: “Entrance exam results will be prepared electronically. So there is no human intervention in this exam. No privileges are given to anyone. Only students who answer the questions correctly with their knowledge can succeed in this exam. Interest and trust in our university increase daily. To meet our prospective students' interest, we have increased our quota by 30% this year. I wish success to all our prospective students who took the exam today. It is a matter of pride to study at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, which is among the “Top 800 universities” in the World University Rankings. I would like you to know that Manas University, which offers free education to our youth, aims to raise young people who will benefit Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, the Turkic World and humanity. Our efforts are directed in this direction.”
Deputy Rector Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova said: “There is a festive atmosphere at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University today. The most important thing I have observed since morning is the excitement of prospective students and their families. Students who wish to become students at Manas University should show their potential in entrance exams. This will enable them to realize their dreams and study in the departments they want. As the Rectorate, we strive to provide opportunities in every field for young people who want to study at Manas University.”
Describing Manas University as the best higher education institution in Kyrgyzstan, the parents praised the Manas University community and expressed their gratitude. Manas Television in cooperation with the Press and Public Relations Office and the İLEF Team, carried a joint broadcast on television and social media during the exam.
The success of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, which consolidated its place among the “World's Top 1000 Universities” for the second consecutive year by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) and ranked among the “Top 800 universities” in the QS World University Rankings 2024, was also emphasized for its success by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). KTMU became the first and only university in Kyrgyzstan included in the world university rankings.
An agreement was signed between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey in Izmir to establish the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in 1995. Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, which provides high quality and free education to its students with the wide opportunities provided by the two states, has achieved great success with its development in every field, especially in education, research and contribution to society, especially in the last three years. The university also contributes to the development of Turkic World countries with its social responsibility activities and added value it creates.
