Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Gave an Interview to the Public Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic

The Public Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic (UTRK) interviewed Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University`s Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan. UTRK is one of the leading media organizations in Kyrgyzstan. Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan expressed his satisfaction with the decision to make Kyrgyz the state language.

Underlining that Manas University has attached great importance to the teaching of the Kyrgyz language since its establishment, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan said, “The main languages of instruction at Manas University are Kyrgyz and Turkish. We can say that Manas University is the only university that teaches the Kyrgyz language within a certain system and program. We have professionals in language field. We have a set of “Altın Köpürö” (Golden Bridge) textbooks and rich audio-visual materials created by expert staff. We develop and organize our materials in parallel with technology. For example, there are QR codes in our books. Students can easily access listening and watching materials by scanning these codes with their smartphones.”

Manas University Supports Kyrgyz Language Teaching

Rector Alpaslan Ceylan stated that Manas University has always contributed to society. Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan said, “We appreciate the updated legislation by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov on the issue of the Kyrgyz language being the state language. We will continue to support new legal regulations. We are committed to providing the necessary support to everyone, especially official institutions that provide Kyrgyz language courses suitable for all levels. These courses are to be opened in September at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University`s Continuing Education Center. Currently, 4 of our lecturers are working in the Working Group of the State Language and Language Policy Development Program for 2021-2025, which was formed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. Apart from this, we will continue to share our knowledge and experience regarding the development of the Kyrgyz language.”
