Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, was a special guest on Manas Radio on October 9, 2023. Rector Ceylan shared his goals for the 2023-2024 academic year and discussed two upcoming events: the 12th International Symposium on “Traditional Sports Games of the Turkic Peoples” and the Organization of Turkic States-Turkish Universities Union Traditional Sports Games. These events will take place on October 11-13, 2023.

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University`s Rector Alpaslan Ceylan shared significant information on Manas Radio on October 9, 2023. He discussed the university's goals for the 2023-2024 academic year, as well as highlighted the 12th International Symposium on “Traditional Sports Games of the Turkic Peoples” and the Organization of Turkic States-Turkic Universities Union Traditional Sports Games, scheduled for October 11-13, 2023.

Rector Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized the university's commitment to achieving worldwide prestige. He expressed aim to make Manas University one of the most prestigious universities globally, leveraging the 2023-2024 academic year as an opportunity to get closer to this objective. He displayed confidence in the university's robust infrastructure and qualified academic staff, with a focus on improving education quality to provide students with a world-class education.

Under the slogan “More Than Just a University,” Rector Alpaslan Ceylan stressed the university's intention to contribute to various fields in Kyrgyzstan beyond its educational role. He also emphasized their commitment to being pioneers in development and innovation.

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan announced the establishment of the Eurasian Institute of History, Language, and Archaeology, which will focus on studying the history, language, and archaeology of not only Kyrgyzstan and Turkey but the entire Turkic world. He expressed the university's sense of responsibility in this regard. Rector also revealed the creation of the Traditional Games and Sports Research Institute and the Traditional Sports Games Square at the university, marking a pioneering initiative on a global scale.

Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan cited the words of famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural traditions to prevent a loss of identity. In this context, he highlighted the role of traditional sports games in reconnecting young people with their cultural roots.

Rector Alpaslan Ceylan announced the upcoming 12th International Symposium on “Traditional Sports Games of Turkic Peoples,” which will host participants from various countries, making it the largest and most significant event in its field. He highlighted the support of the President of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Necmettin Bilal Erdogan, and their long-term cooperation.

Additionally, he expressed the university's dedication to traditional sports games and their desire for all students to participate, as these games are an integral part of Turkish culture.

Rector mentioned that the symposium would consist of five sessions, with three being held in person and two online. Participants from countries such as Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, the USA, Azerbaijan, and Mongolia will present a total of 126 papers.

In conclusion, Rector Alpaslan Ceylan shared the university's goal for the 2023-2024 academic year: to break into the top 500 of the QS World University Rankings. He expressed his belief that this goal would be achieved with the support of the university's qualified academic staff and successful students.
