21st International Congress of Social Sciences of the Turkic World
Gazi University had the distinct honor of hosting the “21st International Congress of Social Sciences of the Turkic World,” organized by the Turkic World Research Foundation under the auspices of the Turkic World Application and Research Center at Sakarya University on October 11, 2023. This significant international congress aimed to foster cooperation in academic, social, economic, and educational realms within the Turkic World, and it was held within the scope of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
The opening ceremony of the 21st International Congress of Social Sciences of the Turkic World was graced by the virtual presence of Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. Rector Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized that this congress represents a scholarly endeavor that illuminates the ideals of unity, brotherhood, and a promising future for the Turkic World. In this context, he invoked the words of Kashgari Mahmud, stating that “The horse is the wing of the Turk,” asserting that this congress serves as a wing of the Turkic World in the field of social sciences.
Rector Alpaslan Ceylan also acknowledged the foundational roots of the congress within Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and expressed his happiness in extending its legacy into the 21st century. He further emphasized their commitment to perpetuating the values left behind by the esteemed President, Prof. Dr. Turan Yazgan, and praised President of the Foundation of Turkic World Studies, Kozhan Yazgan, for continuing his father's legacy. Additionally, he extended his heartfelt gratitude to all those who played vital roles in organizing the congress and to Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, the Rector of Gazi University, for hosting the event.
