Panel on “Hanafi-Maturidi Interpretation of Islam” Was Held at KTMU

On October 24, 2023, the Faculty of Theology at Manas University organized a panel on the “Hanafi-Mâturîdî Interpretation of Islam.” This event took place at the Kasym Tynystanov Conference Hall of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU).

The panel was attended by Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayık, the Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bakyt Murzarayımov, and the Head of the Department of Religious Studies, Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat, as well as other academicians and students.

The panel commenced with the national anthems of both countries and the screening of an introductory film about the Faculty of Theology. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayık, the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, announced to the participants that the faculty plans to organize future symposiums and seminars to further promote the Hanafi-Mâturîdî belief. Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan expressed his appreciation and pride for the educational activities carried out by the faculty members in villages.

Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat, the Head of the Department of Religious Studies, chaired the panel and emphasized that the event was a social responsibility project. He highlighted the significant contributions of the Turkish nation to Islam, with the Hanafi-Mâturîdî belief being one of these contributions.

During the panel, Prof. Dr. Bekir Tatlı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nail Karagoz, Assist. Prof. Dr. Aitmamat Kariev and Dr. Khaitmirza Sotvoldiev engaged in discussions about important topics related to the Hanafi-Mâturîdî understanding of Islam.
