On October 27, 2023, the Opening Ceremony for the 2023-2024 Academic Year of the Faculty of Communication was held at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. The event was attended by the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, the Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sezai Turk, as well as Jayil Ruslanov, the Head of the Department of Public Relations and Media Studies of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, along with various academics and students.
The ceremony commenced with the screening of an introductory video about the faculty. Detailed information was provided about the Faculty of Communication's extensive efforts over the past two years and its notable achievements.
Professor Dr. Mehmet Sezai Turk, the Dean of the Faculty of Communication spoke with pride about the remarkable accomplishments of the Faculty during the 2021-2023 academic years. He highlighted the presence of essential workshops within the Faculty, such as the Editing Laboratory, Graphic Design Laboratory, and Newspaper Application Workshops. He also provided information about the forthcoming Public Relations and Advertising Agency and expressed gratitude to Rector Professor Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan for his support in establishing these laboratories.
Dean, Professor Dr. Mehmet Sezai Turk remarked, “The students of the Faculty of Communication have achieved tremendous success, securing a total of 27 international and 17 national awards. The recognition and acclaim received through these awards underscore the high quality of education provided by the Faculty.” Additionally, he emphasized the outstanding achievements of the faculty members, who have collectively earned a total of 71 international awards, including 15 national awards. “These prestigious awards from around the world attest to the Faculty of Communication's well-established success on both national and international stages.”
Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, the Rector of Manas University, emphasized the university's dedication to becoming one of the world's best universities, and he expressed his gratitude to Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sezai Turk for his unwavering commitment. Rector Alpaslan Ceylan stated, “In terms of laboratory facilities, we are a leading university in Central Asia. Our ultimate aim is to be recognized as one of the best universities globally.” He concluded his speech by extending his best wishes for the success of the students.
Prior to the Faculty of Communication Opening Ceremony, an exhibition by Lecturer Kanybek Omurbekov, titled “Art-Communication” and “Pictures in Scientific and Literary Works,” was also unveiled. Alongside the exhibition, a food fair was organized to help children with cancer in Bishkek. This food fair received support from Manas University's academic and administrative staff and their families. These meaningful events not only showcased the Faculty of Communication's achievements in education and communication but also demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact on society.
