IV. International Congress of Turkic Civilization Held at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, the “IV. International Congress on Turkic Civilization” was inaugurated by the Turkic Civilization Research and Application Center. The congress, hosted by Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University at the Kasym Tynystanov Conference Hall, aims to foster a deeper understanding, study, and sharing of the rich cultural heritage and civilization of the Turkic World.

During the opening of the congress, Congress President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Arif Ozerbash expressed satisfaction with the notable development of closely following and internalizing the cultural values of the Turkic World, especially in the rapidly advancing technological landscape. He emphasized that the congress aims to address the fundamental educational and cultural dimensions of the Turkic World from an international perspective. He also conveyed his sincere gratitude to the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, who played a pivotal role in organizing and successfully executing this significant congress.

Deputy Rector, Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova, underscored the content and significance of the congress, stating, “In the historical conditions associated with independence, especially in newly independent states like Kyrgyzstan, there is a growing focus on national statehood and the exploration of national-ethnic roots. As we delve into the depths of our origins and heritage, we gain a greater awareness of the shared cultural ties that bind us together.”

Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized the history of the Turkish nation and conveyed important messages. Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized the crucial role of education and culture in ensuring the unity of nations, preserving their history, and safeguarding their independence. He underscored the significance of knowledge in education, culture, and language, noting that a lack thereof has a detrimental impact on the cultural life of the Turkish nation.

Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized his belief that the days will come when the Turkish nation will unite through the strength of its history, language, and culture. He stressed the importance of dedicating more efforts to education and culture to achieve this goal.

Additionally, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized the importance of remembering the past, addressing the present, and being mindful of the obstacles on the journey towards a shared future. He highlighted the necessity of processing and developing the common cultural, social, and economic foundations of Turks entering this new historical era. Rector Ceylan further asserted that these values should be safeguarded as part of the achievements of the Turkic World. Following the speeches, the opening session was chaired by the Rector of Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan and was followed with interest by the participants.

The congress brought together 230 academicians and researchers from six different countries of the Turkic World (Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan). In the congress, a total of 36 sessions and 203 papers were presented, with 24 sessions conducted face-to-face and 12 sessions held online. Focused on the themes of “Education and Culture,” the congress provided an opportunity to present and discuss the profound cultural heritage of the Turkic World to a broader international audience.
