Painters of the Turkic World at Manas University

The Turkic World Chyngyz Aitmatov Painting Exhibition was held on December 11, 2023, at the Kurmancan Datka Art Gallery of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. There was significant interest in the paintings inspired by the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov.

Rector of Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan; Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sezai Turk; Chief Advisor to the Rector, Prof. Dr. Recai Dogan; General Secretary, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oktay Ozgul; art director, Prof. Dr. Refik Aziz; many academicians, students, and art lovers attended the exhibition. Eldar Aitmatov, the youngest son of Chyngyz Aitmatov, and his wife Sabira Aitmatova were among the important guests of the exhibition. Additionally, notable painters from the Turkic World were present at the exhibition, where beautiful oil paintings and sculptures met with art lovers.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Refik Aziz, the art director of the exhibition, stated that it was a great honor to exhibit the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov and thanked Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, the Rector of Manas University, for this honor.

Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, said, "We are trying to realize the dream of becoming a Turkic World University. For this reason, our valuable artists from the Turkic World can be at our university whenever they wish; we would be honored to host them." Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, emphasized the importance of understanding the world of thought of Chyngyz Aitmatov and stated that his works are not just texts to be read and passed but also gain meaning with the codes they contain. Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, emphasized the importance of understanding and reading the works written during the totalitarian regime and said, "Our first task is to understand Chyngyz Aitmatov's philosophy, thought, and art world. Our second task is to analyze Chyngyz Aitmatov's work on Turkish identity."

Rector Ceylan stated that as the Manas family, they will always support the artists of the Turkic World and that they care about every work that contributes to Turkish culture and identity.

Distinguished artists from the Turkic World participated in the painting exhibition organized in memory of the famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov. Twenty-one renowned artists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan colored the exhibition with 45 valuable works of art.
