Seminar on “Consumption and Security of Information as a Requirement of the Information Society”
On March 6, 2024, within the scope of the activities organized by KTMU Continuing Education Center, the seminar on “Consumption and Security of Information as a Requirement of the Information Society” was held by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Guntekin Shimshek.
The seminar led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Guntekin Shimshek garnered significant interest among academicians and students. In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Guntekin Shimshek emphasized the concept of information and conveyed the purpose and importance of information security to the participants. He stated that information has become the greatest power in today's societies and said, “People, groups, companies, or countries that have information also have power.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Guntekin Shimshek emphasized that information security plays a vital role not only for individuals but also for institutions and countries. He stated that the correct, secure, and effective use of information will make significant contributions to the development of societies.
The seminar was remarkable in terms of both increasing the level of knowledge of the participants and conveying the effort to adapt to the requirements of the “information society.”
