The Kyrgyz-Russian/Russian-Kyrgyz Dictionary of Biological Terms Has Been Published

The Dictionary of Biological Terms was prepared under the program “Development of the State Language and Improvement of Language Policy in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2021-2025”.

The dictionary, proposed for publication by the Faculty of Sciences of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and the Terminology Commission under the National Commission on the State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, was published as a Kyrgyz-Russian / Russian-Kyrgyz dictionary.

The dictionary, created to contribute to the development of the Kyrgyz language, ensure the correct understanding of biological information, and provide accurate information to the public, includes contributions from KTMU Faculty of Sciences Dean, Prof. Dr. Gulbubu Kurmanbekova; Head of the Department of Biology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kadyrbai Chekirov; Faculty Members Prof. Dr. Nurbek Aldaiarov; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazgul Imanberdieva; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gulnara Sharshenalieva; and Dr. Nurjamal Omurzakova.

Prepared using lexicographical sources in English, Turkish, and Russian, the dictionary contains 3,636 terms, concepts, and terminological expressions found in systematic scientific and educational textbooks.

In addition to biologists, the dictionary can be used by agronomists, veterinarians, health professionals, translators, methodologists, academics, students, and primary school teachers. Thanks to the alphabetical systematization of the terms, it will make it easier to find the necessary information.

The Kyrgyz-Russian / Russian-Kyrgyz Dictionary of Biological Terms, meticulously prepared by experts, will contribute to the Kyrgyz language gaining a stronger place in the scientific world and will help transfer scientific knowledge accurately and effectively.
