Deputy Rector, Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev Participated in the II Forum of Rectors

On July 16-17, 2024, the II Forum of Rectors of Universities of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. More than 30 universities from both countries participated in the forum, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the forum attended by the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, the Deputy Rector, Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev represented our university.

The main purpose of the forum was to establish sustainable partnerships between the universities of the two countries. It aimed to facilitate the exchange of successful research experiences and educational methods, develop international educational programs and projects based on bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements, and promote the development of faculty and student mobility. This year, the forum's main theme was “Features of the Development of Higher Education and Science at the Current Stage in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.”

In the session titled “Improving the Quality of Education Management,” Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Ibraev made a presentation introducing Manas University. He provided information about the agreements made between Manas University and universities in Uzbekistan, as well as the current status of Uzbek students studying at our university. Prof. Dr. Ibraev also discussed our university's international agreements, particularly highlighting the Turkic Council – Turkic Universities Union (TÜRKÜNİB).

The forum also addressed issues such as bilateral agreements with university officials in Uzbekistan and student and faculty mobility. Meetings were held with universities interested in cooperating with our university in the fields of education, culture, and art. Cooperation protocols were signed with Namangan Engineering-Construction Institute, “Silk Road” International Tourism University, Samarkand State Architecture and Construction University, Andijan State University, and Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of the Uzbek Language and Literature.
