Rector Ceylan Reads Books with Students on Campus
Reading books in the open air together with students, Rector Ceylan chatted with the youth after the event, exchanging views on the books they read, their academic lives, interests, and ongoing projects.
The campus hosts every moment of learning
Held in the green areas of the university campus, the event demonstrated that the campus serves not only for education and research, but also as a shared living space that supports students' intellectual, social, and cultural development.
Reading books alongside the students, Rector Ceylan emphasized that university education is not limited to classrooms and laboratories, stating that reading, thinking, questioning, and encountering different ideas are integral parts of university life.
“A youth who reads sees the world from a broader horizon”
Stating that books are among the most essential sources for developing an individual's world of thought and gaining new perspectives, Rector Prof. Dr. Ceylan advised students to cultivate a habit of regular reading.
Ceylan said: “A book is one of the most powerful resources that feeds the human mind, enriches the world of thought, and opens new horizons. University years are an important period where our youth, in addition to acquiring professional knowledge, come to know themselves, society, and the world more deeply. For this reason, I attach great importance to them making reading a natural part of their lives. Today, meeting with our students in the beautiful atmosphere of our campus around the same book and the same excitement for learning is extremely precious to me.”

The event, which also provided students with the opportunity to communicate directly with the university administration, concluded with Rector Ceylan chatting with the students for a while following the reading session, listening to their thoughts regarding their academic lives, projects, and university experiences.
