A seminar titled “The Importance of the Constitution in Contemporary States and the Development of Kyrgyzstan's Constitution” was organized by the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Central Asian Studies Center (ORASAM) and the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
The seminar dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Kyrgyz Republic Constitution was held on April 18, 2023, at the Kasym Tynystanov Conference Hall. The seminar was moderated by ORASAM President Prof. Dr. Nasuh Uslu and the speakers were International Relations Department faculty members.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Murat Burkan Serbest explained the emergence of constitutions and their meaning and importance for states. Furthermore, he explained how constitutions work, their functions, their structures, and what they contain.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Zakir Chotaev explained the first emergence of the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan, the conditions of its emergence, the amendments made to the constitution in the following years, the adoption of new constitutions and the change of the state administration system with new constitutions, with reference to the developments in the politics of Kyrgyzstan. Assist. Prof. Dr. Zakir Chotaev also explained the current Kyrgyzstan constitution.
By answering the audience's questions, the seminar made a significant contribution to the comprehensive evaluation of the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan. It also evaluated different aspects of Kyrgyzstan's governance system.
