The library of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University was opened in 1998 in accordance with the mission and purpose of the university to provide faculty, students, researchers and administrative staff with the necessary information and sources of information, as well as to meet their educational, scientific, cultural and other information needs, to create and use an appropriate electronic system, to expand the range of necessary information resources and to enrich the content, to support educational, training and research programs.
An electronic catalog was created in 2002, an automated library system "Yordam" was built in 2005, all library services were automated, and the electronic catalog was opened to the world via the Internet (https://yordam.manas.edu.kg/). In February 2016, the mobile format of the electronic catalog "My Mobile Library" was introduced. At present, our library, with a total of more than 95 thousand books, newspapers, journals, audio and video sources, has 410 seats and receives about 500 thousand readers a year. Each library has an electromagnetic protection system, which allows readers to freely use the open source. Equipped with modern equipment, it connects to about 60 electronic databases and sources a year, provides readers with electronic books and journals in various fields. All libraries are equipped with high-speed WiFi and have 1 computer room for 12 people.
Central Library
In September 2013, the Central Library was opened in a building that was built together with a dormitory on the campus of our university, with more than 35,000 books, newspapers, journals and audio and video sources for 82 seats. The library has two reading rooms, a fund of scientific journals, a fund of valuable books and a fund of diploma works.
Library named after Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar
In April 2018, the "Library named after Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar" was opened on the campus of our university for 120 seats, equipped with more than 15 thousand books, newspapers, journals and audio and video sources in the field of veterinary medicine, agriculture, tourism, etc. The library has a reading room, dissertation fund, a collection of scientific journals and a computer room for 12 people.
Preparatory course reading room (Main building)
Our old library in the main building, which opened in 1998, now serves as a “Preparatory course reading room”. The library has sections "Collection", "Cataloging" and is provided with more than 40 thousand books, newspapers, journals and audio and video sources for the preparation course. The library has a 160 seat. Seminars, periodicals, questionnaires, Prof. Dr. Karybek Moldobaev and Prof. Dr. Salizhan Zhigitov's textbooks are also available in the library.
Reading room in the building of the FEM
In August 2021, the reading room was opened in the building of the Faculty of Economics and Management with 48 seats for more than 6,000 books in the humanities and social sciences, newspapers, journals and audio-video sources.
Reading room named after Prof. Dr. Anvarbek Mokeev
In December 2021, the "Reading room named after Prof. Dr. Anvarbek Mokeev" was opened in the building of the Faculty of Communication with 40 seats for more than 3,000 books in the communications, humanities and social sciences, newspapers, journals and audio-video sources.
Service
The library provides access to a wide range of resources for all readers. The books are available only to the KTMU staff and students by subscription.
Subscription Terms and Conditions
KTMU ID cards allow subscribers to gain access to all services. Students and personnel can borrow 5 books for 15 days. Items that have not been requested by another borrower can be renewed up to 3 times. Users can renew items on loan through the library membership card or online via the university website three days before the due date. If someone else has reserved the item, the reader will not be allowed to renew it. Reference books, periodicals, synopsis of the thesis, reserve books, audio/visual materials cannot be borrowed. These items can only be used within the library. If the desired item is not available it can be placed holds in the online library catalog. When the item is available the library user will be notified via e-mail. The item may be booked for up to 3 days on the shelf of reserved items. If these items are not requested during this period, the next reader may receive notification or the items can be returned to circulation.

Library Sanctions
All loans must be returned to the library on time. Fines for late returns are charged at a daily rate (3 soms per day) per item. Borrowers are responsible for providing refunds of library material that is declared lost. In case of non-replacement, the user will be charged four times more than the prevailing cost of the book.
Basic library rules
• Keep quiet in the library. Group study should not be held in the library.
• Leave borrowed books to the issue desk.
• Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
• Food and drinks are not allowed in the library.
• Respect the library staff and obey their instructions.

Central Library:
Monday - Friday: 08:30-22:00 (from 17:30 to 22:00 readers are not allowed to take books home and are only allowed to use the reading room.);
Saturday: 11:00-22:00 (from 18:00 to 22:00 readers are not allowed to take books home and are only allowed to use the reading room);
Sunday: 14:00-20:00 (books are not given to readers on this day, they are allowed to use only the reading room.).

Monday - Friday: 08:30-20:00 (from 17:30 to 20:00 readers are not allowed to take books home and are only allowed to use the reading room);
Saturday-Sunday: Weekends.
